Data Deletion Instructions
Last Updated: October 29, 2026 Effective Date: October 4, 2026
Caletan Inc. ("Caletan," "we," "our," or "us") operates Caletan. This page explains how to have your information deleted from Caletan, whoever you are: a business that connected a social network, someone who signed in with Google, a business that uses Caletan, or a family, student or client of one. It should be read with our Privacy Policy and our Data Processing Agreement.
To ask for anything on this page, email legal@caletan.com. We answer within 30 days, and sooner where we can.
1. If You Connected Facebook, Instagram, Google or TikTok
A business can connect its Facebook Page, Instagram account, Google Business Profile or TikTok account to Caletan, so that posts it writes in Caletan are shared there.
What We Receive
When you connect an account, Caletan keeps only what it needs to post for you:
- the account's or Page's name, its id on the network, and a link to it;
- the keys the network gives Caletan to post on your behalf, sealed with encryption, and when they expire;
- who on your team connected it, and when.
Caletan never reads your messages or your followers, and never posts anything you didn't send from Caletan.
Disconnecting in Caletan
- Sign in at caletan.com as someone who manages the business's settings, such as its owner.
- Open Settings, then Social.
- Tap the connected account, then Disconnect, and confirm.
Caletan then takes back its access from the network and deletes the account's name, id, link and keys. Posts that were scheduled to go there won't. Posts already published stay on the network: delete them there if you want them gone.
Removing Caletan on the Network
You can also remove Caletan from the network itself. Caletan can no longer post for you as soon as you do, and its keys stop working.
- Facebook: Settings and privacy → Settings → Business integrations → Caletan → Remove.
- Instagram: Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites → Caletan → Remove.
- Google: myaccount.google.com/permissions → Caletan → Remove access.
- TikTok: Settings and privacy → Security and permissions → Apps and services permissions → Caletan → Remove access.
Removing Caletan on the network stops its access but doesn't erase what Caletan kept. To have that deleted too, disconnect the account in Caletan as above, or email us from the business owner's address saying which account, and we delete it within 30 days and confirm by email.
2. If You Signed In with Google
When you continue with Google, Google shares your name and email address with Caletan, and tells us whether the address is verified. To stop Caletan receiving them, remove Caletan at myaccount.google.com/permissions. To have your Caletan account and what Google shared deleted, follow section 3 if your account belongs to a business, or section 4 if you're a family, student or client.
3. If Your Business Uses Caletan
To close your business's account and have its information deleted, as its owner:
- Take a copy first, if you want one. In Caletan, open Settings, then Your data, and tap Download everything: every record as data, and your lists as spreadsheets.
- On the same page, tap Close, read what happens, type your business's name and confirm.
Everything stops at once: your site and booking, your families' and clients' accounts, and your team's. We email you to say so. For 30 days you can still sign in, download everything, or reopen your business as you left it.
After those 30 days, we delete its classes, schedules and bookings, its messages and documents, its staff, its website, its connected social accounts and its files, and everything about its families, students and clients but what the law requires us to keep (section 5). If you can't sign in, email legal@caletan.com from the owner's address instead, and we close it for you. Ask us, and we confirm the deletion in writing.
4. If You're a Family, Student or Client of a Business
When a dance studio, swim school, salon or any other business uses Caletan, that business decides what is kept about you, and Caletan keeps it for them. To see what's kept about your household, sign in on the business's site, open your menu and tap Download your information. To have your information or your child's deleted, ask the business first: it can remove or correct it, and it is the one that knows what it must keep.
If you can't reach the business, or it doesn't answer, email legal@caletan.com with the business's name and your own. We pass your request to the business and help it answer, as our Data Processing Agreement requires.
5. What We Keep, and Why
Deleting your information doesn't erase everything at once, for these reasons:
- Records the law requires. Invoices, payments and refunds are kept for at least as long as tax and accounting law requires: in Canada, six years after the end of the year they belong to. Signed policies and waivers, and every yes or no to messages, are kept with them. We keep only what those records need: the names and contact details of the people they concern, and nothing else about them.
- A "no" to messages. If you said no to emails or texts, we keep that answer, and only that, so you're never messaged again.
- Backups. Our database backups are kept for 7 days. A record deleted today is gone from every backup within 7 days, and isn't restored from one in the meantime.
- Payment processors. Card payments are made through Stripe, which keeps its own records of them under Stripe's Privacy Policy. Caletan never holds a full card number.
